08/21/06 - SO, THAT'S THAT!

The life of "Junky Jack" Thornborrow: a century of hardship, laughter, and recycling, is a moving biography of author/illlustrator Joan Thornborrow Steacy's father, a scrap-metal dealer who still refuses to act his age, even after one hundred years! The arc of his life moves from a comfortable, middle-class childhood in England, to abject poverty in depression-era southern Ontario, riding the rails in search of work, making munitions during WWII, and discovering the magic of turning junk into gold!

06/21/06 - DAVE DORMAN’S HEAVY LEADWORKS HAVE ARRIVED!

KSP is totally jazzed to partner with Rolling Thunder Press in bringing this awesome new monographic into print! Dave’s an absolutely brilliant storyteller, regardless of the medium he's working in, and his drawing, composition and rendering skills are equally as stellar! His fans know this Eisner Award winner for his photo-realistic painted artwork for A-list properties including Batman, Aliens, Indiana Jones, and Star Wars, but most haven’t had the opportunity to see his work-in-progress - until now!

“There’s a lot more work that goes into the art than just paint on board,” Dave sez, “The pencil preliminaries that I do prior to painting is really the groundwork that makes the final color what it is. But no-one ever gets to see these pencil prelims, so here is a chance for my fans to see a different side to my art. The prelims in the book are mostly my final pencils before I start painting so these are fully rendered pieces and not just ‘sketches’” Please click on CREATIONS in the sidebar to order your copy - thanx!
